Donald Sultan was in born in Asheville, North Carolina in 1951. He received an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1974. During 1980 through 1981, he received a State National Endowment for the Arts. In 2000 he got an honorary doctorate degree from the Corcoran School of Art in Washington D.C. In 2002 he received an honorary doctorate degree from the New York Academy of Art. Donals Sultan lives currently in New York.
